Architectural Steelwork for Mixed-Use Workspace and Luxury Living

Client Requirement

Our client required a complete architectural metalwork solution for a landmark mixed-use development in the heart of London. Combining shared workspace facilities with high-end penthouse apartments, the project demanded both structural integrity and exceptional aesthetic quality.

With multiple building elements dependent on the completion of our steelwork – from the rooftop penthouse frames and focal-point glass atrium roof, to staircases, balconies, and wind posts – meeting tight programme deadlines was critical. As this was a high-value, design-led scheme, precision workmanship and flawless finishes were essential to reflect the premium nature of the space and satisfy both the developer client’s vision and the expectations of future occupants.

Our Approach

This was a complex, design-led project requiring our expertise from survey through to final installation. We created bespoke structural and architectural steel elements to meet the project’s ambitious aesthetic and performance requirements.

Working closely with the client and design team, we undertook detailed site surveys before producing fabrication drawings for a wide range of elements, including:

Our works were carefully phased to meet the programme and avoid delays to dependent trades, with multiple elements designed, fabricated, and installed in parallel to maximise efficiency.

Client Collaboration

The client was highly engaged throughout the process, from approving initial designs to signing off the final installations. Their input helped shape the aesthetic and functional details of each element, and our ability to respond quickly to site changes was valued throughout.

Challenges Overcome

This project presented several logistical and technical challenges, including unexpected rebar positioning and limited access for lifting large steel sections. By introducing specialist scanning equipment, compact handling solutions, and additional skilled labour, we overcame these hurdles without delaying the programme. Our ability to run multiple work streams simultaneously was key to keeping the project on track.

This project demonstrates Triangle’s capability to deliver complex, high-end architectural steelwork for mixed-use developments, combining structural expertise, aesthetic precision, and agile problem-solving from concept to completion.
